99. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse
Sometimes life just calls for a great dry-aged steak, a killer red wine and maybe some serious shrimp remoulade to start with. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse answers those moments with a clubby vintage railcar setting, reliable food and a wine list as deep (and as pricy) as it is extensive. It’s an effective theater for the manly, monied set, which doesn’t mean a solo female can’t feel comfortable (and vastly entertained!) sitting at the polished bar, watching the kitchen action and splurging on a premium wine by the glass. It’s all a Hollywood location scout’s dream of how a Houston restaurant would look and feel, which is part of the fun of being here.
