91. Angus Grill Brazilian Steakhouse
All-you-can eat rodizio spots are now legion in the greater Houston area. The one that calls me back is Angus Grill, a cordial, low-key churrascaria where the parade of meats on skewers is carnivorous luxury at a relatively reasonable price: $34.95 for dinner and a cool $20 for weekday lunch. They get the seasoning level and degree of doneness right on the dense slices of bottom sirloin called Fraldinha; the rolled commas of Picanha, top sirloin rimmed in delicious fat; the mighty beef ribs and crusty little pork ribs. Garlic beef, lamb chops, earthy nuggets of chicken heart, it’s all good, right down to the molten cheese-bread popovers, grilled pineapple and flash-fried bananas that are the ritual sides.
