The clean flavors of Persian cuisine distinguish this trim semi-serve restaurant on a corner of Hillcroft’s Little India. An outdoor dining deck affords a view of the bustling street action. The kebab plates, the beautifully cooked rice (try the version sparked with tart/sweet barberries) and the alluring vegetable and yogurt dips all shine. And there are high and mighty orbs of taftoon, the Persian ancestor of naan, with which to enjoy them. In fact, one of Bijan’s taftoon loaves, with a complimentary plate of fresh herbs and feta, is one of the city’s primal eating experiences.
