Chef-owner Frederic Perrier and his Texas-bred wife, Michelle, bring a French sensibility and American wit to their suburban dining oasis in Missouri City, down where it bumps into Sugar Land. The nightly blackboard menu offers a lengthy list of seasonal specials, like the deep and dusky wild boar bourguignonne that warms the cool months. And nightly chef-choice tastings (gently priced at $55) might yield anything from a classic torchon of foie gras to an improbably successful “sandwich” of braised short rib and scallop. Even the bread basket charms, and Perrier’s whispery-thin apple tart is easily one of Houston’s best desserts. After four years, this place is still going strong.
