There’s no better place for a bang-up Chinese seafood feast — lazy Susan table and all — than at this Bellaire Boulevard spot, which is usually hopping with fans from Houston’s Asian community. The showpiece dishes are a must here: whole scarlet lobsters on a fried-noodle bed with a gentle sauce of ginger and green onion; whole Dungeness crab with lobster sauce steamed with fried rice in a lotus leaf. The Peking duck with steamed buns is among the city’s best, right down to its unusually savory hoisin sauce. Among the wonderful surprises are the custard-like Jade Tofu with King Mushroom, crispy smelts with spicy salt and an elegant Pork Blood Jell-O & Big Yellow Bean Sprout Soup. Service can be brusque, but it’s all business. The prices? Amazingly mild.
