49. Plonk
Just “nice” enough, just casual enough, this Garden Oaks bistro is the model of what a neighborhood restaurant should be. But the smart wine and beer lists, along with focused food from chef Erin Smith, make it worth a special trip to the near northwest side. From pearly halibut to killer burgers, from thoughtful seasonal salads to bright Mediterranean dips served with puffed mini-pitas from the stone oven, Plonk turns its ironic name on its head.
